Jesus Angulo

Shawnee Miller is the staff accountant. She graduated magna cum laude from Texas A&M - Central Texas with a BBA in accounting and has been with the firm for twelve years. She is a native of Gatesville and graduated with honors from Gatesville High School. She is a member of the Texas Society of CPAs, Central Texas TXCPA, AICPA, secretary of the Gatesville Lions Club, and a member of The National Honors Society of Leadership and Success and is excited to continue to take part in the future growth of Gatesville and the accounting profession.

Jesus Angulo is the accounting intern and graduated from McLennan Community College with his associates in accounting in 2020. Jesus is an honor graduate of Gatesville High School. He participated in the UIL Accounting Team, and was in band and played soccer while attending Gatesville High School, and has lived in the Gatesville area since 2004. He is a member of the Texas Society of CPAs and TXCPA Central Texas. He is attending Tarleton State University through the McLennan college program to get his BBA in accounting. He anticipates a 2021 graduation date and looks forward to obtaining his CPA license.

In December 1983, JOHN MARCY WINN, CPA, of Austin, Texas, purchased the former LUCILLE BROWN tax practice. DORA JEAN DYSON was employed to manage the firm in Gatesville. She graduated from Baylor University December 1983, completed her CPA Exam May 1984, got her CPA Certificate November 1984 and was sworn in May 1985.  She continued managing the firm through December 1986, at which time she purchased the firm from Mr. Winn and changed the firm name to DORA JEAN DYSON, CPA.

Our primary reason for existence is to serve in a Christian-based firm helping clients to maximize their potential while obeying the requirements of the law.

Our Team

Dora Jean Dyson, CPA, CGMA

Mark Dyson is the computer technician. He is a graduate of Texas State Technical Institute, Waco, Texas, with a degree in Computer Maintenance Technology and is a graduate of Gatesville High School. He is currently employed in the corporate office of Acer America and has been  taking care of all technology since 1990 and also has served as an assistant in management and accounting services. 

Dora Jean Dyson is the owner of Dora Jean Dyson, CPA, P.C. She graduated summa cum laude from Baylor University with a BBA in Accounting, the highest ranking student in the school of business. She also graduated from Famous Artist School.  She enjoys serving as an active member of several professional organizations and has enjoyed serving on the Advisory Council of the American Institute of CPA's, the Board of Directors of Texas Society CPA's and Central Texas Chapter of CPA's.  She is involved in many civic organizations.
